A Vaio P must have. April 5, 2010 sonkun The standard battery only provides less than 2 hours with normal use. If you are interested in using the P without interruptions, you'll be very happy with the Sony Extended Battery. I estimate getting about 4 - 5 hours of normal usage.
sony p laptop March 18, 2010 Alan G. Hoffman (usa nv.) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
the sony p extended battery is better then what came with it. the laptop drains the battery very fast. lucky to get 40 minutes of time before going dead. would not buy another sony vaio p series.
Adds bulk, but makes the Vaio P more useful. February 28, 2010 JAmazon I was getting 3 hours at most with the standard battery, and have basically gotten a little more than double that with this battery. I keep the screen at 3 bars of brightness with only WiFi on and, if I leave it alone for a bit, the battery life estimate jumps to 15 hours, but that's obviously not real-world use. It's kind of nice to have two batteries and I can always go back to the stock one to make the P super slim again.
As the pictures show (I added two pics of my own), it's about twice the thickness (and weight) of the standard battery so the P is not quite as sleek but at least I can use it for a whole day on and off without worrying about it dying. My only complaint is that it went on sale here the moment I received mine.
A great power boost! February 1, 2010 amateurgolf (Carlsbad, CA USA) After much tweaking of my P series Sony sub-netbook (or whatever you call it) I have found it to be a useful travel companion. I have put Windows 7 on it and other than the battery life was pretty happy with the mobility vs. performance aspects of the P series. After all, there was only so much performance I could expect for something so light. I finally went for the $100 battery and was glad I did, I'm getting at least twice and maybe 2.5 times the life where I now feel like I can get 3 hours of work done without fear of my power running out. With the little adaptor I have even done full powerpoint presentations. And people keep stopping me asking about "that little computer"... I recommend the battery upgrade to anyone that regularly uses their P series unplugged and that should be everyone.
Terrific! January 17, 2010 Dr Mike I wanted an extended battery for long flights or all-day conferences. I can go a full 8 hours with this battery if I keep the wireless off and the screen at half brightness. I have a SSHD and Win7, so that helps conserve power, plus I shut the screen off after 2 minutes of inactivity. Very happy with the P series Vaio and this is a terrific battery with relatively low profile. Even with this battery, I can slip the entire computer in my jacket pocket.
