3 out of 5 stars Almost   July 30, 2010

There are two versions of this product. One has a slot to charge a spare battery, the other does not. This one does not. I bought one of each. While both work well, the one that charges the spare battery is most useful. Prices were similar.

2 out of 5 stars NOT FOR DROID X   July 29, 2010

This item came up in the search for when I searched Droid X Dock. However it DOES NOT fit the Droid X and works only with the earlier version of the Droid.

4 out of 5 stars Glad I bought this   July 28, 2010

I am glad I bought this docking station. It keeps my phone charged and acts like a desk clock. It is great for keeping my picture gallery as a moving slide show.

4 out of 5 stars Works as advertised   July 28, 2010
Richard L. Slaby (Jersey City, NJ United States)
I gave the cradle four stars, but here are a few things that kept it from five.

-- I was able to get it for $30 when the retail was $50, but that's still expensive for a simple stand with a magnet.

-- My only complaint about the functionality is that you sometimes have to fumble with it to get the charger into the connection. I find myself unintentionally hitting buttons on the screen in the process.

-- The cord is a little short. It will reach the ground from a nightstand, but I had to add an extension to be able to pick it up to set the alarm.

There are lots of reviews for this item, so I will be brief...
1. Works as advertised. Can also use the USB cable to hook up the computer.
2. Cheap enough - not all that much more than an additional charger.
3. The docking application is useful as a clock, music player, weather etc.

Since I use a leather vertical pouch and not a silicon type protector, I don't have the issues related to the phone not fitting on the docking station. My only issue with the docking station is that it relies on the phone for the speakers, so don't expect any great sound if you use the phone as a music player - Pandora or MP3, sure would have been nice to have some good sound coming from the docking station.

Still to be determined is the long term reliability...
