bought this item hoping it would work....the price was unbelievable compared to the same item from dell $7.00 as opposed to $65.00......But, now 4 wks later the battery on my laptop is fried and I think it may be because the ac adapter was not charging my battery. Now I have to buy a new battery and the ac adapter from Dell.

this was my 2nd attempt at ordering something online, and I must admit it was well worth it. When my power cord quit on me I was distressed because I needed one ASAP, but didn't want to pay an enormous amount at the store. Ordering through amazon was quick and easy, and I received my power cord in less than 3 days!

About 40 days after I purchased this item, FLAMES shot forth from the cord about 1 inch away from the place where it connects to the adapter. Stay away.
