living in south Florida this suction cup worked great for 2 months then the suction cup fell off due to the heat, very poor design for the car if you live in a hot climate. do not buy this , it happens to almost everybody

I have owned 3 Escort detectors and have been pleased with their products, but this thing is not up to those standards. It is junk. The suction cup eventually separates from the body of the mount and won't tighten up when latched, causing it to hang loosely and flop on the windshield. Don't waste your money.

I ordered two of these mounts, one for a backup because it seemed like a good way to mount the detector. This summer, after only a few months of using it, the suction cup separated from the unit. Looked like it just tore away from the mount. Others claim it is heat or cold. I'm not so sure it isn't just a poor design. I installed the second mount yesterday. I'll see how long it lasts. Two stars are given instead of one because I'm an optimist and hopeful the second mount holds up.

The unit is a bit obtrusive. Sticks very well. Holds level and true.
I have had a very hot summer and I have noticed that the unit can now
turn a little easier then it did new. I have had it for about 4 months now.
Brutal Illinois summer of 2010.
I will keep you informed of any heat related occurances.
I sure hope Escort did not jeopadize there standards with some third world supplier.
