5 out of 5 stars Absolutely great magazine....love the artwork!   October 29, 2007

This is by far my favorite design magazine currently available. The quality and artwork is beyond anything else published. And it also provides tutorials that apply to real life situations. So everything is immensely useful.

Computer Arts recently began extending its subscription offer to US customers (finally). I purchased a copy of this @ Barnes & Noble, and there was a card inside that offered a 1 year subscription for only $99. MUCH better than $175.

Also, the tutorials are available on their website for free and anyone can access them.

Great magazine, great ideas!

5 out of 5 stars A MUST get Magazine for Any Graphic Designer. Well Worth the Money.   June 4, 2007
Hopefully Helpful (St. Louis, MO)
So much useful stuff! The first pages contain an "Exposure" section showing off new or up and coming entrant's designs. I have found so much inspiration from designs in these first few pages its unbelievable. That alone is worth the money even at $173 (although I bought my subscription from the magazine's website at $100 - sorry, Amazon it was too big of a price difference.)

A "tutorials" section contains MULTIPLE useful tutorials and some of the latest techniques. "Feature" articles follow and also a "Reviews" section for hardware and software.

Oh yeah, each magazine contains a CD of FREEBIES. There's always 50-100 free stock images, book extracts, tutorial files and free software tryouts. Occasionally there will be a full version of some software (my latest magazine had a full working version of Bryce 5. Yes, version 6 is out, but who cares! It's free and I wanted it!)

I can't tell you how many ideas I have gotten from the pages of this magazine. I always turn the pages when I'm in a creative slump and find something to pull me out of it.

---**** THE BOTTOM LINE ****---
It is a lot of money for a magazine subscription and you will be second guessing yourself on whether you should buy it. Save up or something, but JUST GET IT! It's that good.

1 out of 5 stars Made subscription and haven't received anything   November 28, 2006

I've made my subscription of Computer Arts back on September, and now is November 28th and I still haven't got even ONE issue. I have already written a thousand emails to them, and I always get the answer that "we'll be sending you another copy", but nothing came to me so far. The customer service is just terrible!

5 out of 5 stars The best magazine out there for people in creative environments   August 3, 2006
Manny Hernandez (Bay Area, CA)
I am not an artist, but I work with creatives. In my job as a Product Manager, I am exposed to web design, interactive design and graphic design every day. Reading through the great articles Computer Arts offers every month allows me do a better job as a manager with my product and helps me give my team better direction when it comes to creative decisions.

Also, the goodies included in every issue (software -some trial, some for free-, fonts, stock photos) make the investment on this subscription be even MORE worth every penny of what it costs. If you think subscribing to Computer Arts for a year is expensive, you're probably right. But I tell you: being in the dark about the topics it covers will cost you more. If you're unsure, pick up a copy in the magazine shelves of your local bookstore, check it out and see for yourself.

If you like Computer Arts, make sure to check out its sister magazine, Computer Arts Projects.

5 out of 5 stars Great magazine.   December 21, 2005

For the passionate web designer, this is the best magazine out there. Each issue comes with a cd and is packed with useful information. This cost seems a little high - about $70 more than the on the Computer Arts site (after the currency conversion). You can't go wrong when purchasing this magazine.
